This single fitting made of galvanised steel primarily serves to enable a standard lashing strap to be used in combination with the airline track.
It has a simple design with spring mechanism for locking in an airline track. The fitting can thus be inserted into the lashing track and used in fractions of a second. You can see how quickly this is done in the video.
