The shoring beam, also referred to as a locking rod, is one of the simplest loading aids. By simply bracing between two points, maximum blocking forces can be achieved to secure the load. Shoring beams and tension rods are a useful aid for securing cargo in transporters or trucks. They are particularly popular for use in Sprinters, transporters, Crafters and many other small transporters. In combination with lashing tracks or lashing points, they are highly flexible.

Distinction between shoring beams and tension rods

There is a rough distinction in the two different designs – the round shape or square. In addition, they can be categorised according to the end pin designs. There are cylindrical and conical pins, combination pins, pins for tracks with pins or airline tracks. As a rule, shoring beams are made of aluminium and, depending on the model, may have a sturdy PVC sheathing that protects both the goods and the shoring beam itself, making it more durable.
