They are also known as tension locks and take the form of a fitting made of cast metal or formed sheet steel which closes a tension strap. These types of locks are composed of a fluted jaw and a deflector bar. The clamping jaw is pressed onto the bar with a spring. With the clamping lock lashing strap, you can pull the webbing through the lock in one direction. In the other direction it is blocked by the clamping jaw. The angle of the clamping jaw to the bar is important for the subsequent release of the belt even under load.
