This fitting with ring primarily serves to enable a standard lashing strap to be used in combination with the anchor combi lashing track. Since you can simply use the standard lashing strap that is on the vehicle, you no longer need special belts that have to be manufactured to fit the track system. The practical end fitting offers the possibility of lashing down the vehicle in a very uncomplicated and customised way.
