Very often you can also see vehicles being secured via the towing eyes. This is dangerously reckless, when you consider that these towing eyes or their threaded mounts are usually only connected to the vehicles by spot welding or riveting and do not represent a lashing point that can absorb the forces that occur during transport. Due to their suspension, loaded vehicles are a so-called “spring-like mass” that constantly swings up and down during transport. Due to the springing of the bodywork, tensioning devices are constantly loosened and re-tensioned, which of course puts considerable stress not only on the towing eyes but also on the tensioning devices themselves. This means that vehicles must not be lashed over the bodywork. If vehicles are loaded and transported, they must always be properly secured according to the technical standards. This can only be done over the wheels and with suitable lashing equipment.
