Another important factor in cargo securing for trailers is the even distribution of the goods. Only in this way can the trailer be securely attached to the car coupling. Trailer nets and lashing straps are also practical accessories that are often both essential and legally required.

Safety nets for car trailers usually have similar structures. They are elastic and stable. Most of the products also fulfil all the provisions that the legislator has stipulated for road safety. Often motorists are stopped while transporting unsecured items and only buy a trailer net afterwards. To avoid this stress, it is an extremely good idea to ensure that the load is secured by an appropriate net before transport.

No matter what type of load is moved, high-quality safety nets are ultimately indispensable. Without this type of car trailer accessory, the contents of the trailer can start moving and, in the worst case, spill onto the road and cause accidents.

Safety nets differ only in their strength and scope. Nets made of braided PP (polypropylene) can be used individually to secure cargo for trailers. The nets are simply attached to the points provided on the trailer side wall. All-round edge reinforcement additionally secures the cargo together with the net. Lashing nets are specially designed to secure small or loose loads.

Section 22(1) of the German Road Traffic Regulations stipulates that loads on a car trailer must be stowed in such a way that nothing can slip or interfere with the flow of traffic in the event of emergency braking. However, trailers can also be well secured with a tarpaulin. Therefore, it is sometimes useful to use a securing net in combination with a tarpaulin to secure the load. This also carefully secures smaller objects.

High-quality products such as safety nets, which are offered as car trailer accessories, definitely need to be weatherproof and tear-resistant. Durable materials include polypropylene (PP) and/or polyethylene (PE), which are UV-resistant and therefore extremely long-lasting.

Transport nets are commercially available in many different sizes. These usually start at 2500 x 1600 millimetres and range up to 6000 x 3500 millimetres. Safety nets are usually knotted with 2.1 millimetre to 3 millimetre yarn thickness. The width of the meshes is on average 30 x 30 millimetres, but can also be 50 x 50 millimetres. The thickness of the edging is usually 8 millimetres and it fixes the all-around fastening rubber band.
